Remember, the USD wallet and the USD virtual card are different; don’t mix them up. You need to add money to the USD card for your payments to go through. Here’s a simple guide on how to add funds to your Eversend USD virtual card:
Step 1: Funding Your Eversend Account
To add money to your Eversend account:
1. Open the Eversend app and go to “Balances.”
2. Select the wallet you want to fund and follow the steps to complete the transaction.
Your money will show up in your account within a few minutes.
After adding funds to your local wallet, you can fund your virtual card in two ways:
– Transfer money directly from your main wallet to the virtual card, or
– Exchange your local currency for USD first.
Exchanging for USD first is helpful because you’ll know exactly how much you’re adding to the card balance.
To fund the virtual card directly from your from your main Eversend wallet;
- Go to the “Cards” section in the app.
- Pick the card you want to add money to if you have more than one.
- Tap “Fund,” then choose a wallet with money in it and enter how much you want to add.
- Type in your account PIN to confirm.
- Your card balance will update right away.
To fund the virtual card from the USD wallet;
1. Go to the “Balances” section and pick your funded wallet.
2. Click the blue “Exchange” button.
3. Select USD as the currency you want to exchange to.
4. Enter the amount and confirm the exchange.
5. Go to the “Cards” section in the app.
6. Choose which card you want to fund if you have more than one.
7. Tap “Fund,” select your USD wallet, and enter how much money you want to add to your card balance.

– Find the Eversend app in your app store and download it.

– After setting up, you’ll get separate wallets for Euros (EUR) and US Dollars (USD) in the app to store your money safely.
Creating Your Virtual Euro/USD Bank Account:
- Open the Eversend app and swipe to the Euro wallet/USD wallet by tapping on the directional arrow.

- Tap on “Add Money/Load” and then select “Bank Transfer” from the pop-up options.

- Tap on “Request Virtual bank account.”

Why was your virtual card deactivated/removed/deleted?
Eversend may revoke your card for the following reasons:
- Payment failed because there weren’t enough funds on the first attempt with a new card : If you don’t have enough money when you try to make your first payment, your card will be canceled. Make sure your new Eversend virtual card has enough money by moving funds from your Eversend wallets to the virtual card. Once you add enough money, you can make payments successfully, and your card won’t be deactivated for this reason.
- Two failed transactions in a row because there wasn’t enough money : If your card runs out of money and you try to use it twice in a row, it will be suspended. You need to contact customer support for help. If you keep trying to use the card after it’s suspended, it will be deactivated.
- Failed to collect monthly subscription fee : Eversend charges $1 each month for every virtual card you make. If it’s time to pay for your card and you don’t have enough money in your USD wallet, and your virtual card balance is under $2, the card will be canceled.
- Negative Balances or Overdrafts : If you have negative balances or overdrafts, your card might be canceled. The remaining balance on your virtual card will go into your USD wallet to cover the overdraft.
- Remove Card Request : If you choose the “remove card” option in the app, the card will be deleted 24 hours later. After that time, the money on the card will go back to your USD wallet.
What will happen to the money on the deactivated card?
The money from your old card will go into your Eversend USD wallet after it’s deleted. If it’s already deleted, check your Eversend USD balance.
Reasons Your Card Might Be Deleted
Keep track of your virtual card’s activity and follow the platform’s rules to avoid losing it. Here are some reasons why your virtual card might be deleted:
1. Insufficent Balance :
- If your new card is used for a payment that fails because of not enough money twice, the card will be canceled after the second failed attempt.
- If your card payment fails because of not enough money twice, it will be canceled after the fourth time it fails.
2. Blocked Merchant IDs
Your card will be canceled if you try to use it for payments on unsupported platforms like Crypto, Bet9ja, Wise, adult content, or other restricted merchants. For a full list of unsupported platforms where your virtual card can’t be used
3. Negative Balance
If your account goes negative because of virtual card fees and you don’t pay it off, your card will be canceled. Always keep enough money in your wallet to cover any fees.

Eversend wants to be clear about all the fees their users might face, ensuring a good experience when using their services. Here are the fees:
Virtual card creation(Issuance) fee: $0
Monthly Card Maintenance Fee: Eversend has a plan with a fee for using 2 cards. You can choose the plan that works best for you.
- $1 Monthly Fee Plan : When you create a card with Eversend, They will charge you $1 every month for each active or frozen card.
- $3 One-Time Fee Plan : Pay $3 once, and you won’t have to pay any more card maintenance fees.
What other fees should you be aware of?
- You will be charged a fee of 3.5% plus $0.50 for international transactions when you make payments in currencies other than USD using your virtual card or if the payment is made outside the U.S. For example, if you pay in currencies like NGN, EUR, UGX, or GHS, you’ll incur this fee even though you’re using a dollar card. Additionally, if you pay a U.S. merchant in USD but they process the payment outside the U.S., like Facebook Ads which are settled in Dublin, Ireland, you may also face this fee. Unfortunately, these fees are set by card processors like Visa and Mastercard and we cannot control them.
- If your virtual card payment is declined because you don’t have enough money, you’ll be charged a fee of $0.35 for each failed attempt.

If a virtual card payment is declined, Eversend has to pay fees for the failed attempt. The fee for a declined transaction due to not enough balance is taken from the user to cover this cost – They don’t make any profit from it. In fact, They lowered the fee to $0.35 to make it easier for their users.

Keep your Eversend virtual card funded: Always have enough money on your virtual card for your online payments. Check your balance often to make sure it covers what you want to spend.
Manage subscriptions: Look at the subscription services connected to your Eversend virtual card. If there are any you don’t use or want anymore, remove your card details from those services. This will help you avoid being charged for things you don’t need.
